Public Art

I have always discovered and thoroughly enjoyed amazing public art in every city that I have visited. I am so grateful everyone has the opportunity to enjoy these beautiful pieces. For this challenge I have one bear sculpture but decided to focus on other kinds of public art like murals in NYC. I probably need several posts to cover all that I have enjoyed in NYC but for now I will restrict myself to public art in Soho. This post is for Marsha’s PPAC.

Art transcends cultural boundaries

The 40-foot-high blue bear was created by Lawrence Argent for the Denver Convention Center. It’s such a fun piece and injects a touch of whimsy to the more serious note that a convention center generally conveys.

  1. These are awesome examples of public art. The stick figures are darling. They look lost or puzzled. So cute. The bear is amazing. It would be so cool to look out the window and see him looking in at you. You captured a lot of whimsical pieces from all over. Thanks for joining in with PPAC.
